One Line Pitch:
An R-Rated Abbott & Costello or Laurel & Hardy type buddy comedy.
Fed up with his family life, and short on cash, Joe Kerson sets off with his pal Andy on a scheme to sell a plot of worthless land in the hopes of racing off with the money to live the life of his dreams.
Where The Adventures of Joe & Andy Comes From:
This is a throwback to the Abbott and Costello, Laurel and Hardy, WC Fields, Marx Brothers, Hope and Crosby type flicks of the 30s and 40s with the paper thin plot lines and outrageous hijinks. This is a script for people interested in absurd comedy. If you’re not interested in that kind of things, this won’t be for you.
As you read, picture this movie in black and white. That’s the only suitable way for it to be shot.
And by the way, I’ve never had as much fun writing anything as I did writing The Adventures of Joe & Andy. The process flowed effortlessly, and I laughed and laughed and laughed.
As for the people who inspired these characters, there’s a fellow I knew from my hometown, and another fellow I knew from my hometown who…eh forget it, just give it a read.
